About me
Hi! I am Edjellen Faith Habon, Edj for short. A self-taught digital artist with a variety of interests. I started drawing since elementary and learned how to draw manga in high-school. At the age of fourteen (year 2004), I explored Adobe Photoshop by doing some photo editing and manipulating, and immediately, I fell in love with it. Because of it, I aspired to be a photographer and self-studied photography. I own a humble Canon 1100D Rebel and a 50mm lens for my bokeh experiments. Recently, my hubby gave me a Wacom Intuos Manga drawing tablet as our 7th anniversary gift♥~ so now, I am recently focused on sharpening my digital painting skills and graphic arts. A graduate of BS in Information Technology, I have a background with programming and web developing but my passion didn't last on that. A proud mother of my multi-talented son whom God blessed me with last 2009. I have no talent in cooking so I'm lucky to have a partner who does.

What will you find in this blog?

This blog is dedicated to my works. Here you can find photographs taken by me, my drawings, arts & crafts, and how I did them. Basically, my network portfolio site.

When did you start to love photography?

When I was in 6th grade (I was 10 years old at that time), my English teacher asked our class if we owned or if our family has a camera. Most of us raised our hands. Next, she asked if anyone knew how to take photos. Still I raised my hand and found out that there were only two of us who did. She then announced that the two of us will be joining the photojournalism field in the division press conference. I was shocked because I fear public contests and have no confidence in taking photos, of course I only take photos for fun. My teacher said not to worry because we are not pressured to win, it was just that our school didn't know there would be a photojournalism team in the division press conference and it was a last minute matter. So I attended the press conference. I was assigned in the Filipino Photojournalism. Our task was to take photos of random things everywhere and to caption them according to the theme. Top ten winners were announced per field and I was pretty sure my name wouldn't be mentioned. BUT a miracle happened. I made it to the top 8 and was able to proceed to the regional press conference. I was shocked but I was happy. From then on, I learned to love photography and started to believe that I am capable of being a photographer.

When did you start to love drawing and designing?
I think I was drawing since elementary and when I was in high-school, I kept all my drawings in a folder. My father gives me a fastened set of scratch papers from their office back then, and I draw my "manga" story in there. It was because of the cartoons and anime that I've watched that inspired me to draw. Every time I watch an anime series, in my head I imagine how it was drawn and every night I go back to my study table and start drawing. During my 4th year in high-school, my classmate owns a How to Draw Manga magazine set (I used to stare at them at the National Book Store because my parents can't afford it. It cost 999 Php each at that time.) and I borrowed all of them and had my father photocopy them. So maybe I loved drawing when I was exposed to anime. :)
