Below is the steps of how I did this. BTW, I did this while I was at work in the office because most of the time I got bored there. :D Most of the time, I finish my workloads in the morning so I end up doing other stuffs by the afternoon.

So the first step: Tracing
I choose a photo of me (of course that's why it's a self-portrait) and by using the pen tool in Photoshop (I'm using the portable CS3), I slowly traced and stroked my photo. I set the brush first to soft round 3.0 pixels.

Next is: Coloring


Change the color of the pen strokes, but remember to lock the pixels of that layer first so that you won't end up filling the entire layer with that color. Then slowly color/fill the lineart. I chose pastel colors for this one for a soft effect.

 For the lips, I'm using this simple tutorial.


Lastly, add the shade, highlight and background.. and it's done.
